DUBUGNON & PROBST

Richard Dubugnon double bass & harpsichord
Tatiana Probst soprano & harpsichord

Richard Dubugnon is a double bass virtuoso and has performed recitals in the USA, Europe and Russia.  Better known as a composer, Richard recently had his violin concerto premiered by Janine Jansen with the Orchestre de Paris conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen. Richard wrote the first commission of Hugo songs for this festival for Karina Gauvin in 2004, and has since written Missa Brevis Anglicanus for the Town Church Choir in Guernsey.

Tatiana Probst is an accomplished soprano and composer of vocal music and hails from a long line of pianists and composers as a member of the Casadesus family. Tatiana regularly appears as soloist in theatre, opera and oratorio.

We welcome Richard’s return to Guernsey with Tatiana to perform at the Town Church on Saturday 25 September 2010 at 1.00pm on the double bass and harpsichord with Tatiana, soprano and harpsichord. To a programme of baroque solos has been added a work for double bass by the performer and a world premiere of ‘À Guernesey’  by Tatiana’s father Dominique Probst based on a poem by Victor Hugo, dedicated to Richard and Tatiana. This concert concludes the BWCI Lunchtime Concerts.
